Hello and welcome to our second week of Summer School! For those of you who are new to the class, please allow me to introduce myself:
My name is Ms. Ebony. I am the Kindergarten teacher here at HJIS, and I’m
thrilled to be working with your child this summer. I am from New York, USA. I have lived in the United Arab Emirates and in Ghana before moving here to
Japan. My passion is early childhood education and I have been teaching
for 10 years. I love to travel and to learn about different cultures. I am so
delighted to be in Japan and to call both Sendai and Horizon my home for
the past 4+ years.
Our theme this week is Down on the Farm. Throughout the week we will learn about farm life and the many animals who live on the farm. We will explore
our theme through various activities (art, language, math, cooking,
experiments) songs and games.
I look forward to another busy and exciting week ahead!

こんにちは!そしてサマースクール2週目にようこそ!2週目から初めて参加される皆さんのために、まずは私自身の自己紹介をさせてください。
私の名前はエボニーと申します。ホライゾンではKindergarten(年長)クラスの担任をして
います。サマースクールでこどもたちと一緒に過ごせることにワクワクしています。私はアメリカのニューヨーク出身で、日本に来る前にはアラブ首長国連邦やガーナで過ごしたことがあります。幼児教育に熱意をもって取り組んでおり、10年以上、先生としてこどもたちと接してきました。私は旅行が大好きで、旅先で様々な文化に触れることも大好きです。日本に来て、またホライゾンで働き始めて4年以上が経ち、仙台をホームと呼べるぐらいの時間を過ごしていることをうれしく思っています。
今週のテーマは、Down on the Farm(牧場の生活)です。一週間を通して、牧場の生活
や、牧場で暮らす様々な動物たちについて学びます。テーマ学習をすすめていく中で、
様々なアクティビティ(アート、英語、算数、クッキング、実験)をしたり、歌を歌ったり、ゲームをしたりします。
今週もまたきっと、忙しくとも充実した一週間になることでしょう!
